Laundry is not something I generally do (let alone write about),
but with Worldwide in Indonesia, it is something that I need to take care of. I
don’t mind doing it; and in fact, I derive inordinate pleasure from reuniting
orphan socks with their mates.
For some reason, we have two repositories for single white socks—one in
the laundry room, and one in the master bedroom. So today, I decided to bring
both into the living room while I sorted. I quickly matched one pair; and then
another; and then another. It was like Vinnie Johnson in the 1989 playoffs.
Usually, I am pleased with one or two successes, but today I was able to
reunite an incredible nine pairs of socks.
I just had to share my joy with the world.
I demand the opportunity to inspect your work. Did you in fact reunited nine pairs, or, in your exhuberance, has there been some self-deception? I tell you, these socks will do anything to mess with your head.
ReplyDeleteHave I told you about my brilliant idea for "socks.com"? Its basically Craig's List, but for missing socks.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a sock that has lost its partner, you post a picture of it on my website. Then other people can check through their socks to see if they can make a match. Then, one person mails the missing sock to the other person. Voila, a matched pair!
Maybe you could use pattern matching technology to help identify partners.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, but only for premium members.
